Since the inception of the Ship Breaking industry in Pakistan the management has separated the activities of M/s. Star Cotton Corp. (Pvt.) Ltd. (Sister concern of Dada Sons (Pvt) Ltd.), and an internal Division has been established for the ship breaking industry.

Star Cotton Corp. (Pvt) Ltd., has already dismantled about 2,500,000 (Two Millions and five hundred thousand) Tons Deadweight more that 300,000 Light Displacement Tonnage valuing more than 60 Million U.S. Dollars and has vast experience in the field of ship breaking.

Pakistan's ship recycling industry operates at the Gadani beach in the Balochistan coastal area. The beach is about 50 km northwest of Karachi.

  • NUMBER OF PLOTS: 05 Wet Berths.


Star Cotton's ship breaking yards have the capacity to dismantle approximately 210,000 tons annually.
  • The ship-breaking yard nos. 81 / 82 / 83 are suitable for normal ships like VLCC, ULCC, Tankers, Bulk Carriers and Ore Carriers and have the capacity to dismantle approximately 150,000 tons annually, the maximum size of vessels which can be dismantled at the above yards is approximately 600,000 or 75,000 Long Tons LDT.

  • The Ship Breaking Yard No. 44 is 1,000 feet deep from the shore, this yard has a sea depth about 30 feet in low water tide, therefore the yard is suitable for high draft vessels like Passenger ships and War Ships, Container Carrier and specially Wrecked ships. The breaking capacity of this yard is about 35,000 Long Tons.

  • The Ship Breaking Yard No. 93 is suitable for normal ships and especially for low draft vessels, its capacity is about 60,000 Tons annually.

    We can dismantle simultaneously
    • 4 VLCC      or
    • 2 VLCC / 1 ULCC;    or.
    • 5 normal ships of panamax size.
